Jordan the Red Wine Genie...

Jordan will be leaving soon, but do not fear - just grab any Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon, preferably 2004 or older and open the cork… At the start of this I wanted to do an Al Hirschfeld like drawing. But it quickly morphed into him being a genie with a wine bottle and him doing that unforgettable Jordan pose, with his arms up... That Jordan, what a gangster.

Jordan and Coffee...

This week in Art Jumble, we're doing a tribute to Jordan McCommons. Jordan loves the coffee and throughout the week he gets an Americano from Starbucks (which is an espresso diluted with hot water). One day, he might try the Blind Eye (which is a cup of American coffee with five or more shots of espresso in it), it's not on the menu - you must ask for it.

I’ve been meaning to experiment with acrylics for a while and well here it is. Not entirely happy with it but, it is what it is. I scanned it to show the richer colors. Some detail of the room is accurate - the Talking Heads poster to the right of the door that is ripped, the LIFE board game that they hook the Barbie up on to create "Lisa", the green boobs on the monitor, the Frankenstein movie playing, a bra on the floor because when they clicked 'enter' both the bra's on their heads flew off and of course Kelly LeBrock or “Lisa” in the door way. The rest is just made up…

Created it with a 5 color acrylic set (blue, red, yellow, white and black), #3, #6 and 1" size brushes and some sponges on 8.5 x 11 cold press illustration board (I know hot press warps less, but cold is all I got).

Illustration Friday: run

This weeks IF topic didn't really interest me at all, so over the weekend I didn't do one. On Sunday however I was mowing my lawn, when all of a sudden my lawnmower broke. So I did this little illustration of my mower not running. As you can see I was very mad and as it stands now, my lawn is half mowed. :o)

I apologize for any Superman fans out there by ruining his alcohol free saves the day again persona. Thought I’d play off the “don’t drink and drive or expect the worst” ads seen everywhere combined with Superman’s flying capabilities. Just so happens he crashes in a park – huh, go figure…
